What is Crop Image?
Trim away the parts of a photo you do not need. Drag the selection box to frame your subject, or pick a ratio preset for profile pictures, thumbnails and social posts. The crop happens at your image’s full original resolution, not the preview size.
How to use Crop Image
- Choose the image you want to crop.
- Pick an aspect ratio — “Free” for anything, 1:1 for profile pictures, 16:9 for video thumbnails.
- Drag inside the box to move the crop area over the part you want to keep.
- Drag the corner handle to make the selection bigger or smaller.
- Check the crop dimensions shown below, then click “Crop & download”.
Why use this tool?
Perfect social media sizes
Ratio presets take the guesswork out of profile pictures, YouTube thumbnails and Instagram posts.
Full-resolution output
The preview is scaled to fit your screen, but the crop is applied to the original image, so you keep every pixel of quality.
Frequently asked questions
Does cropping lose image quality?
No. Cropping removes pixels outside your selection but does not re-scale what remains, so the kept area stays exactly as sharp as the original.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool on Toolraq runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your file never leaves your device — there is no upload endpoint at all. You can verify this yourself by opening your browser’s DevTools Network tab while you use the tool.
