The short version
Your files are processed entirely inside your web browser. There is no upload endpoint on this site, so the files you compress, convert, sign or read are never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
We do not ask you to create an account, we do not run trackers or advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share personal information — because we do not collect it.
You do not have to take our word for it. Open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any tool. You will see that your file never appears in a request.
What we store on your device
A small amount of information is saved in your own browser using localStorage. It stays on your device, is never sent to a server, and we cannot read it:
- Your theme preference (dark or light mode).
- A list of the tools you recently opened, so the homepage can show them again.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, names, email addresses or passwords.
- No uploaded files — the tools have no server to upload to.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- No analytics profiles built about you as an individual.
Where data does leave your device
We would rather be specific than claim perfection. There are a small number of places where a request goes somewhere other than this site, and none of them involve your files:
- Hosting logs — like every website, our host records standard server request information such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. This is used for security and reliability, not for profiling.
- OCR (Image/PDF → Text) — the first time you use it, the text-recognition language model is downloaded from a public code CDN. Your image is not part of that request; the model comes to you, your image never leaves.
- YouTube Thumbnail Downloader — this fetches the thumbnail image directly from YouTube’s public image servers, which means YouTube can see that a request was made from your IP address, exactly as if you had opened the image yourself.
- Language Translator — translation runs on your device using your browser’s own built-in translation feature. Your text is not sent to us. Your browser vendor may download language models to make this work.
Cookies
Toolraq does not set cookies. The preferences described above use localStorage, which is not transmitted with requests the way cookies are.
Advertising
We do not currently display advertising. If that ever changes, this page will be updated before any ads appear, and this section will name the advertising provider and describe the cookies or identifiers it uses, along with how you can opt out.
Analytics
We do not currently run any analytics product. If we add one, we will choose a privacy-respecting option that does not build individual profiles, and we will say so here.
Children
Toolraq is a general-purpose utility site and is not directed at children. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect it from children either.
Your rights
Data protection laws such as the GDPR give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. In our case there is nothing held to access or delete, because we do not collect personal data. The preferences stored in your browser can be cleared at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the “last updated” date at the top of this page will change with it. Material changes — particularly anything that would mean new data being collected — will be described clearly rather than quietly edited in.
Contact
If you have a question about privacy on Toolraq, email ashubromide@gmail.com and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
